Yesterday was not one of my favorite days for reasons that are not important for ya’ll to know.

But we did have a great race at Pocono so that was a plus.

So, at the end of my long day yesterday I figured what better way to de-stress than write about IndyCar?

Going into the race I didn’t really have any expectations built up.

Mostly, I was hoping that it wasn’t going to be a snoozer like Phoenix and I was hoping that it wouldn’t be the disaster that was Texas.

What we did get was a race that was reminiscent of everyone’s favorite superspeedway, Indianapolis.

I think we were all hoping to see some great racing with the oval masters, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Hunter Reay, and Ed Carpenter starting at the back of the pack.

Boy when that race started we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

Within the first few laps Josef Newgarden was up seven positions and Tony Kannan was up ten positions.

Alexander Rossi showed us why he deserved to win the Indy 500 last year by being a dominant force the entire race.

I was sure he was going to win it and I would have loved to see him win.

Like I’ve said previously I expect him to win a race yet this season, he’s due.

Alex, you better hurry up your time is running up.

And lets be real, none of us were surprised to see RHR up TWENTY positions leading the race.

But I do think we were all surprised to see Hinchcliffe save his car from crashing in a save that will go down in history.

Am I right?

Also, was I the only one surprised to see Kimball AND Sato still standing at the end?

I thought one of them would crash out for sure.

But man, that was a great race wasn’t it?

Class act racing.

And all those lead changes?

Everyone racing each other clean.

And even the one crash involving two cars with Hinch and JR Hildebrand both drivers took responsibility claiming it as the racing incident that it was.

Class act guys really.

(But side note, I was rooting for you JR, you were supposed to come through for me man! You’re great on ovals!!)

I think it's important that we talk about Sebastian Seevedra for a second.

Really SPM, you replaced a guy who crashes with a guy who also crashed.

How's that plan working out for you?

Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Aleshin or Seevedra it just seams rather unfortunate on SPM's part.

Anyways, lets talk about the real star of the race (ya’ll know I wish it was Josef Newgarden but its not so we’ll talk about him in a bit).

The real star of this race was the man, the legend, my close personal friend: Will Power (jk Power and I are not actually close friends we just hung out the one time and I’m still reeling from it).

The guy basically was driving a whole new car by the end of the race, he almost when a lap down but was able to catch a lucky yellow, he was the only person able to create a huge gap, and then used that to his advantage to keep the lead, and was able to use brilliant moves to keep Newgarden at bay during the closing laps.

The man is a legend that’s for sure.

I couldn’t even be mad that my favorite driver finished second.

The guy is stellar (or wicked as he would say).

So yeah, what a fantastic race today.

I hope you all enjoy this late night de-stressing blog and all of its glory.

But don’t worry; I’ll be back later this week with another blog about IndyCar.

Thanks for reading ya’ll.
