Hey ya’ll! Welcome back to my blog!

This week I was having a hard time figuring out what I wanted to write about: there were so many different things going on in IndyCar in the past few weeks.

Then it hit me, why not write about all of them?

So here we are.

I’ve picked some hot topics in IndyCar from the past couple weeks and I’m going to give you my thoughts on them.

So lets get right to it.

Lets start by talking about the last two races: Toronto and Mid Ohio

There was a lot of controversy surrounding both races.

With Mid Ohio it was the caution that came out a screwed some of the drivers out front.

At the time I really didn’t care much because it left Josef Newgarden, my favorite driver out front and eventually led to him winning the race.

But looking at the big picture, those yellows are really awful.

Now, this obviously isn’t the first time this has happened.

Most drivers have been on the good and bad sides of this.

I think its safe to say none of the drivers are a fan.

While watching the Mid Ohio race I was nervous for every pit cycle to occur, with Newgarden out front dominating I was terrified he would get caught out by a yellow.

Yes, this may make for ‘good TV’, but to me, a die hard race fan, it’s not worth it.

Just let them race.

That’s all I’m going to say about the cautions.

But now to the other controversy, lapped cars.

For me as a Newgarden fan, I liked having Gutierrez between Josef and Power on that final restart.

It gave him a buffer and made sure he got his well-deserved win.

In this case I think it was an okay thing.

Josef had a ten second lead that was taken away by a caution, he had been dominating the race, it was his race to win, and if that was taken away from him by a yellow I would have been pissed, and not just because he’s my favorite driver.

He deserved that win.

However, I do see why people were frustrated.

There was no way Gutierrez was going to get around Newgarden, which was obvious from the first half of the restart lap.

AND Gutierrez had to pit anyways, giving up the position after all.

So to me, it seams like Gutierrez and Dale Coyne ruffled a lot of feathers for no good reason.

Before I move onto other things, lets talk about the winner of the last two races: Josef Newgarden.

As a Newgarden fan, I naturally have lots to say, but for your guy’s sake, ill keep it short and sweet, or at least I’ll try.

First off, if you don’t remember, Josef Newgarden has had terrible luck in the past a Mid Ohio.

Trouble in the pits has taken wins away from him on two separate occasions at Mid Ohio.

So for Josef to win in such a dominating fashion, (which seams to be his things, i.e Iowa 2016) made me extremely happy.

I mean that pass on Power?

Legendary.

It’s four days later and I still cant stop thinking about how awesome that pass was.

LEGENDARY.

And then, the cherry on top, Josef Newgarden is leading the championship standings for the first time ever.

I’ll tell you what; I’m a proud fan.

Okay, I’ll stop talking about Josef now.

Lets talk about silly season instead.

I won’t say much now but holy cows is it getting crazy already.

I really hope Andretti does really move to Chevy because then it will be a really crazy silly season.

I’d like to see things shaken up a bit.

And I can’t wait to see where everyone ends up.

I bet you thought I forgot about that beautiful new 2018 IndyCar that was revealed last week.

Well guess what?

I didn’t?

I mean how can you forget that beautiful thing?

Since I’m so young I really don’t know much about the old cars, what was better, was is bad and all that stuff.

But I do know that the new car is a looker.

I absolutely cannot wait to see it on track next year.

One final though before I leave you all alone.

Who do I think is going to win the championship?

I really don’t know.

It could be anyone in the top 4 in the standings.

I don’t know who’s going to win and I don’t know who I want to win.

Helio win his first championship? Yes please!

Josef Newgarden win his first championship? Yes please!

You see my problem?

Well, at least I don’t make the decision.

I’ll leave that one up to them.
